Forum rules
These rules apply to everything posted on the Chipzen forum. When a moderator removes a post or restricts an account, the decision names the rule it broke.
Upvotes: the arrow under a post is an upvote. Use it to say the post is useful. The number beside it is the post's upvote count.
-
Spam
No spam: advertising, promotion, link farming or repeated off-site pitches.
-
Off-topic
Stay on topic: posts belong to the board and thread they are in.
-
Unkind
Be kind: no harassment, insults, threats or personal attacks.
-
AI-generated
No bulk AI-generated posts presented as your own writing.
-
Illegal content
No illegal content.
-
Other
Anything else that breaks these rules or the Terms. The moderator's note says which.
New members
Nobody approves posts before they appear here: what you post is public straight away. A few automatic limits on new members are what keeps spam out instead.
- Your first post includes a quick check that you are a person.
- You can start up to 3 threads and post up to 10 replies a day.
- A post can include up to 2 links.
The limits lift on their own after your first 3 days and your first 3 posts. You do not need to ask anyone.
Reported posts
To flag a post that breaks these rules, or that you believe is illegal, use the Report button on the post. It works whether or not you are signed in: without an account it asks for an email address.
A post that 3 established members report is hidden until a moderator has looked at it. Its author sees a note on the post that says so.
